Yuri Schmitke is a partner at CR& Partners. His practice focuses on the energy, infrastructure, and sustainability sectors, with an emphasis on regulation, public policy, and energy transition. He has extensive experience in administrative and judicial proceedings involving regulatory law related to electricity, environmental matters, and waste management, as well as strong institutional and international engagement. He is also one of the leading experts in Brazil in waste-to-energy recovery, biogas, and biomethane.

Before joining CR& Partners, he had been a partner at Girardi & Schmitke Advogados since 2012, worked as a lawyer at AS Consultoria em Comércio Exterior, and was a professor and creator of the MBA in Energy Recovery and Waste Treatment Administration at FGV São Paulo. Schmitke founded the Brazilian Waste-to-Energy Association (ABREN), where he serves as Executive President.

Schmitke is also the LATAM Vice President of the Global Waste-to-Energy Research and Technology Council (WtERT), headquartered at Columbia University in New York (USA), and coordinated international projects such as the European Union Climate Dialogues (EUCD), aimed at decarbonization through biogas and biomethane. He participates in relevant commissions and organizations, including the OAB/DF, SBPE, ISWA, EBA, and IADF, and has also lectured and spoken at national and international events in the energy and environmental sectors.
